London - The Making of 'Hello, Future' is a 15-minute documentary-style film that gives an insight into the unique collaboration that led to the theatrical production of this year's Saatchi & Saatchi New Directors' Showcase in Cannes. The documentary film was produced by Lee Sharrock and Lexy Stingl of Saatchi & Saatchi, and features interviews with all the key people in the team that made the 'Hello, Future' production possible.
Interviews are featured with creatives from a wide range of disciplines; Turner Prize nominated artist Mark Titchner who was the art director, and created unique typography for ‘Hello, Future'; Producer Juliette Larthe who put the team of creatives from different disciplines together; set designer Gary Card who designed a suitably futuristic set; Marshmallow Laser Feast, who directed the visual performances, created the ‘Voice from the Future' graphics, and titles featured throughout the New Directors' Showcase; Warp Records musician Jamie Lidell who was the only 'human' on stage in Cannes; sound artist Clark who created the 'Voice from the future'; Aaron Meyers who created interactive performance software; and last but not least the Saatchi & Saatchi Senior Creatives Jonathan Santana and Xander Smith who came up with the concept of 'Hello, Future'.
Jonathan and Xander also made a 5-minute film, which follows the stellar group of people on their journey from pre-production meetings in East London, to the glamour of la Croisette in Cannes, and the buzz of the New Directors' Showcase at the Palais des Festivals on 23 June. A charming film with soundtrack by Warp Records musician Clark, this 5-minute wonder captures the essence of the creative process.
Both films were edited by Mark Downes of Motion Picture House, and the Cameraman was Dannan Breathnach. See them on Saatchi & Saatchi's NDS YouTube Channel at:
