New York - During this year's Holiday Season, Saatchi & Saatchi New York banded together to help some of the New Yorkers hit hardest by Hurricane Sandy. Following the storm and subsequent Nor'easter, the agency put out a call for Operation #CoatDrop. The coat drive was run in cooperation with New York Cares, who help to provide warmth the city's most in need citizens each year.
The drive lasted for a week leading up to Thanksgiving, collecting nearly 300 winter jackets. As agency employees arrived each day, they were asked to hang their donations on the #CoatDrop installation in the Saatchi & Saatchi New York lobby. The 250+ coats inspired similar charity drives at other North American Saatchi & Saatchi offices and will aid New York Cares in reaching their goal of collecting 50,000 coats prior to the Holidays.
After #CoatDrop wrapped up for the year, Saatchi & Saatchi New York put together a time-lapse video of the lobby filling with jackets. The results are available to all to see here.
