Making the announcement, Paul Roebuck, CEO Singapore and Malaysia of Saatchi & Saatchi, said that Kathryn's deep understanding of local cultures and insights that comes from having worked and lived in the region for the past ten years across Malaysia, Taiwan, Singapore and Thailand is valuable for the Asia Pacific region.
"Kathryn brings twenty years of experience to the table including ten years of planning in London. She has a skill valued by multinational clients eager to capture their share of the fast developing Asian markets whilst maintaining the global brand equity of their respective brands," says Roebuck.
In her new role Kathryn will head up Global Planning responsibilities for Safeguard and Regional Planning for Head & Shoulders and Olay in AAIK (ASEAN, Australia, India & Korea). "Kathryn's deep knowledge of the markets and consumers in Asia will help drive strategic and idea leadership of the P&G brands," says Chaurasia.
Gonzalez added, "Kathryn has been instrumental in raising the bar on brand innovation in her previous roles and I have no doubt she will do it again for the P&G brands."
Originally from the UK, Kathryn's foresight into the growing influence and significance of Asia prompted her to take up Mandarin at SOAS London soon after completing her MBA. Her subsequent relocation to Asia has allowed her to work on a multitude of high profile brands including; Lux, Knorr, De Beers, Standard Chartered Bank, HSBC, Bumiputra Commerce Bank, Star Cruises, Ben Q, Close Up and Walls.
Kathryn will report to Cliff Francis, Worldwide Planning Head, P&G based in New York and Planning Head for Asia Pacific, Jonathan Daly, based in Singapore.
