London - Saatchi & Saatchi has named Magnus Djaba (pictured), the managing director of Fallon London, as the chief executive of its London office.
Djaba will take on his new role in November, reporting to Robert Senior, the Saatchi & Saatchi EMEA chief executive. He will take charge of the day-to-day running of the London office, leading the executive team and continuing and improving the agency's impressive recent financial growth and creative success.
Senior says that Djaba's track record of impeccable creative judgement over the years at Fallon made him the clear choice to lead the famous London office of Saatchi & Saatchi.
Senior added: "He's a natural leader and as smart as hell, and no-one cares more than he does about the agency, the clients, the work and about doing the right thing."
Djaba has been at Fallon since 2003, joining from Ogilvy as an account director. At Fallon, he was promoted to head of account management, then partner, before being named managing director in September 2010.
Djaba said: "I have had the privilege of learning from some brilliant colleagues over the last 8 years and I am now really looking forward to leading some amazing people at the world's most famous agency."
Meanwhile, the Saatchi & Saatchi London managing director, Michael Rebelo, has moved within the network to become the CEO of Saatchi & Saatchi Australia. He will begin his new role in November.
Rebelo served as general manager of the agency's Wellington and Sydney offices, before he was promoted to CEO of Saatchi & Saatchi Singapore, leading a creative and commercial transformation of the company.
Named London managing director in 2008, Rebelo has been part of the executive team that has returned the UK agency to growth, with account wins for Asda, Toyota, Weight Watchers and Lurpak. The team has also overseen a strong creative resurgence, with award-winning work for the European Tour, Visa and T-Mobile.
Rebelo said: "I've had my eye on the CEO gig in Australia for some time, so it was an opportunity I couldn't pass by. This is a brief that plays to my strengths and experience over the last 5 years, so it is the perfect opportunity for me on many levels."
Senior added: "I've really enjoyed working with Michael over the last 3 ½ years: he's got terrific spirit and has brought his characteristic Antipodean spark to the London office. Saatchi & Saatchi Sydney are lucky to have him."
