Copenhagen - Saatchi & Saatchi Denmark has appointed Jason Mendes to the role of Executive Creative Director.
Award winning Mendes will be responsible for the creative output of the agency, working on key clients including Procter & Gamble, Novartis, Coca-Cola Company, Toyota and Sony Mobile.
Most notable for his recent award winning work on the Ford Focus ‘Contradiction' campaign, Mendes re-joined Saatchi & Saatchi after a five-year period where he created integrated campaigns for Ford, Kodak, Motorola, Philips and Channel 4. His accolades include numerous Cannes Lions, One Show, Clio, Campaign Big Awards, London International Awards, British Television Awards and D&AD.
Thomas Falck, Chief Executive Officer of Denmark and the Nordics, said: "We are very excited that Jason decided to rejoin the Saatchi & Saatchi family in Denmark. From his eight years at Saatchi & Saatchi Sydney, Jason is very well respected as a creative force in our network. As soon as we met Jason there was no doubt in our minds that we had found our new man."
John Pallant, EMEA Regional Creative Director said: "We are delighted to have Jason back at Saatchi & Saatchi and are confident his experience and enthusiasm will quickly help to invigorate our creative work in Denmark."
Speaking from his new post at the agency, Mendes said: "Denmark is a country and a culture that has always fascinated me. Especially the creative source. They produce world-class TV programmes and films... and are surrounded by drop-dead-gorgeous design. Creativity's in their DNA and I can't wait to tap into it."
"The minute Saatchi & Saatchi Copenhagen came calling I jumped at the opportunity. I worked in Australasia and London, both at the forefront of digital and creative advertising, so I'm looking forward to bringing my global experience and creative knowledge to the fantastic client list Saatchi & Saatchi Copenhagen has."
"Today, we live in a world where people can choose what they want, when they want. To be more precise, in our industry, consumers can choose to listen to us, or ignore us. That excites me because it's imperative, more than ever, to create work that really ignites human emotions. It's no longer enough to rely on big media spend to cut through and get noticed. In this day and age, big ideas are more important than ever. And when big ideas are executed across a digital platform, you can create a dialogue and relationship with your target audience like never before."
Mendes goes on to say: "I'm flattered and excited Thomas has brought me in. I'm totally aligned with his vision for the agency. There's a lot of hard work ahead of us but I'm excited by the challenge."
Saatchi & Saatchi Denmark's clients include Toyota, Procter & Gamble, Sony Mobile, Coca-Cola, Nestle, 7-Eleven, Novartis, United Drinks, Femina and Alectia.
