Belgrade - Saatchi & Saatchi Belgrade has won the prestigious EACA Care Grand Prix for B92 Fund's "Battle for the Babies" campaign. Veljko Golubovic, Creative Director of Saatchi & Saatchi Belgrade, and Veran Matic, President of the Board of Directors of B92 Fund, were handed the award at the ceremony held at the European Parliament in Brussels.
EACA Care Awards are presented annually by the European Association of Communications Agencies for the best achievements in social marketing as part of EACA's overall commitment to promote Corporate Social Responsibility. The main aim of this annual ceremony is to highlight the advertising industry's specific contribution to society by selecting and celebrating the most successfully creative social marketing campaigns.
Big humanitarian campaign "Battle for the Babies" was launched on September 1, 2011, with the aim of raising funds for purchasing 100 new incubators for Serbia's youngest and most vulnerable citizens. In this battle, led by the smallest and the bravest fighters, the biggest award is life!
The campaign raised funds for 200 incubators. It involved 700 companies and more than one million people.
"Battle for the Babies" carries such a strong idea that it has managed to unite people, to arouse their feelings and desire to unite in the battle for the common cause. On the awarded website, the public can choose their military rank and the way in which they want to participate in this campaign. The recruits can vote for the companies they deem socially responsible, and for which they believe that they could offer help. Born heroes and veterans can post their life stories on the site. The paramedics can forward information on their hospitals, exchanging experiences and announcing their needs. Guerrilla units can download materials from the site and take action on the streets, while midfielders send out circulars to the individuals and companies. Every company which donates an incubator becomes a Hero Company. Every day, more and more companies and individuals join our battle lines and with their contributions assist our babies in winning this decisive battle.
Veljko Golubovic, Creative Director of Saatchi & Saatchi Belgrade, stressed that the EACA Care Award comes as an important recognition of the effects and the overall quality level of the campaign.
"It's a pleasure to be the best in Europe, but also a big honor. Apart from giving credit to the quality and effects of the campaign, this award is also the acknowledgment that we share the same values," he added.
Veran Matic, President of the Board of Directors of B92 Fund, further commented: "We made the next step in the evolution of campaign design. We don't just raise the awareness for a problem, we also solve the problem. "Battle for the Babies" is the best example of that."
