Sydney - Saatchi & Saatchi Sydney is continuing to lure top talent with two senior creative teams announcing a move to the agency and the appointment of Tod Duke-Yonge as Head of Design.
New ECD Damon Stapleton, who took up the position on 5 January, is attracting top creative talent to the agency. Former creative team Steve May and Nils Eberhardt who departed for DDB Sydney last year are returning to the agency. They formed an award-winning partnership at Saatchi & Saatchi in 2010 and have worked with numerous blue-chip clients such as Toyota, Sony, Earth Hour, Cadburys and Lion Nathan. The team has awards from Cannes, One Show and D&AD to their name.
"It is fantastic to regain Steve and Nils' experience and exceptional creative talent," said Stapleton.
Stapleton is also reuniting with senior creative team Darren Borrino and Stuart Turner who will make the move to Saatchi & Saatchi from 303 Lowe, Sydney. The pair worked under Stapleton at TBWAHuntLascaris in South Africa before moving to DDB South Africa.
Borrino and Turner have worked with IKEA, McDonalds, Honda, International Electric Commission South Africa and can count a Gold Lion, six Cannes shortlists and a Yellow Pencil among their multiple global awards.
Stapleton is delighted to have the pair on board who he describes as "highly motivated and violently hungry".
Tod Duke-Yonge former Head of Design at MOTHER London has worked on campaigns for Stella Artois, Amnesty International and British Television station ITV2 as well as Diet Coke's Hello You' campaign. Tod whose career including time at M&C Saatchi UK, D'Arcy Masius Benton & Bowles, and Grey London, joined Saatchi & Saatchi Sydney last year.
"The attraction of experienced new talent and the return of Saatchi & Saatchi natives is a great endorsement of the new vision and energy Mike has established since he arrived," says Stapleton.
Since his appointment in October, CEO Michael Rebelo has hired Damon Stapleton, recognised as the most awarded creative in Australia, as ECD, and shortly after announced the appointment of experienced EPD, Jason Lonsdale from London.
"I came to Sydney to create world-class creative and strategic partnership team that would make Saatchi & Saatchi Sydney Australia's leading agency," he said. "With the new creative platform that we're assembling, we're reloading, rebooting and are well on track to achieving that quickly."
