London - Saatchi & Saatchi Interactive UK has today won the agency's first brief from QVC.
The interactive specialists are being briefed by the shopping channel this week and will begin work immediately. The first task for Saatchi & Saatchi Interactive is to create a microsite which will provide the main platform for QVC's nationwide talent search for a new presenter for the channel. The microsite will be a focal point for budding presenters and interested viewers as the competition hots up over the summer months.
Neil Hughston, managing director, Saatchi & Saatchi Interactive, said: "We want to create an engaging platform for QVC as it kicks off its search to find a new presenter. The channel is watched in more than 19 million homes in the UK so the competition will be a major event not only for the wannabe presenters but also for millions of QVC viewers wanting to keep up-to-date on the competition."
Sajdah HAQ, creative lead at QVC, said: "Saatchi & Saatchi Interactive was an obvious choice for us. We've been impressed by the creativity in their response to our initial brief and we're looking forward to working with them. This competition to find a new presenter will be a significant activity for us this summer."
