Sao Paulo - For the third consecutive time, F/Nazca Saatchi & Saatchi has won the bidding for Petrobras, Brazil’s most important company. The Petrobras account is set to remain with the agency for a further two years and this may be extended for another two years. Seventeen Brazilian agencies took part in the bidding process and a total of three agencies, F/Nazca Saatchi & Saatchi included, are to share the account.
F/Nazca Saatchi & Saatchi has been involved in handling communication for Petrobras since 2003. The work carried out entails taking part in the company’s large projects and has included the planning, creation and integrated development of the big campaigns carried out in recent years. In 2006, the agency was involved in airing the Gasoline Self-sufficiency project while in 2007 worked on the Rio Pan-American Games and in 2008 on the Pre-Salt Exploration project.
For the past two years, F/Nazca Saatchi & Saatchi has been handling the International communication of Petrobras in a joint operation with the Saatchi & Saatchi network. Drawing on the network’s resources, the agency has run large campaigns such as Petrobras’ arrival in Okinawa in Japan – partners of the Nansei Sekiyu refinery, the launch of Petrobras Chile, and the Investment Relations campaigns.
Over the last seven years, the work produced by the agency has garnered numerous advertising awards for creations devised for Petrobras. The publicity pieces have also been the highlight of national festivals such as Prêmio O Globo (Globe Awards), Festival da Associação Brasileira de Propaganda (Brazilian Advertising Association Festival), Clube de Criação de São Paulo (São Paulo Creation Club), Festival Melhor do Rio (Best of Rio Festival), Prêmio ANJ (Associação Nacional de Jornais – National Newspaper Association), Prêmio Abril (Abril Publishers Award), among others.
The oil company is the fourth largest energy company in the world with operations in 28 countries across five continents. Last year, Petrobras was ranked as the 11th biggest advertiser in Brazil according to IBOP/monitor surveys. Petrobras is also Brazil’s biggest company and the eighth largest company by market value globally. Last year, the company was winner of the Folha newspaper’s Top of Mind award, for the most recalled company in Brazil in the Fuels category.
