Foley to Head Up Singapore and Malaysia

Singapore - Following the departure of Singapore CEO Mike Rebelo to Saatchi & Saatchi London, it has been confirmed that John Foley, current CEO of Saatchi & Saatchi Malaysia, will now take the helm of both agencies.

Foley arrived in Asia six years ago having spent eight years in the renowned Saatchi & Saatchi Wellington agency in New Zealand. Originally based out of the Singapore agency heading up the networks Asia Pacific Toyota/Lexus regional business, John was given the added responsibility of leading the Malaysia agency three years ago.

South East Asia CEO Pat Brett commented, "I'm delighted that John has agreed to take on this new role. He has done an outstanding job for us growing our KL operation into one of the up and coming 'star' agencies in our global network.

"So with the great work Mike has done for us in Singapore, we now have the number one creative agency, and reigning 'Agency of the Year' in both markets. John's challenge now is to ensure that both agencies continue to build on that success."

Foley said, "It's a real honour to be asked to lead two such great agencies. We have a great team here in KL & I'm also very familiar with our Singapore team, having pretty much been there every other week for the last six years! One thing that has really impressed me during Mike's reign is the fantastic creative culture that he has fostered throughout the agency. While I'll miss working with him, he's certainly going to be a huge asset for our London agency and I wish him all the best."

Mike Rebelo added, "Saatchi & Saatchi Singapore is the closest thing to my heart after my fiancée and my family. I have known John for nearly 10 years and he is the only person I would trust this amazing agency with. He shares the same values, ethics and passion for creativity. I know John will care for the team, the work and the clients as much as I have and will drive it to new levels of success. And for a kiwi, he is not a bad guy either!"

Pat Brett concluded, "It is certainly our plan to continue building the reputation and capabilities of both agencies in each market. With John at the helm, both agencies will also work closely to share specialist resources to help grow the businesses of our clients in both markets. For example, Mike has built a fantastic digital team in Singapore, while our KL office is in the planning phase of setting up our Network's specialist Shopper Marketing division, Saatchi & Saatchi X."

Foley's new role is effective immediately, to allow time for a seamless transition before Rebelo leaves for London in mid April.
