Gold Facebook Studio Award for Saatchi & Saatchi Norway

Toyota 'Try My Hybrid' campaign wins Scandinavia's first Facebook Awards Gold.

Oslo - Saatchi & Saatchi is the first advertising agency in Scandinavia ever to win gold in Facebook's advertising prize ' Facebook Studio Awards '.  Saatchi & Saatchi Norway won gold for its campaign "Try my Hybrid " for client Toyota.  Facebook Studio Awards 2014 is the 3rd edition of the awards.

“We are very proud to have won gold in such an important competition as Facebook Studio Awards.  For such results and recognition for creative work , you need a good agency and a good and brave client.  I can not emphasize enough that Toyota Norway is one such client.” said Jon Fredrik Sandengen, CEO of Saatchi & Saatchi.

Judges included; Jeff Benjamin, CCO of JWT; Michael Canning, ECD Leo Burnett New York; Bella Castano, Creative at Mother; and Mark D’Arcy, CCO of Facebook.

The ‘Try my Hybrid’ enabled Toyota Hybrid owners to let people test drive their cars with the help of a Facebook app.  The campaign was a tremendous success and nearly 2.8 million people knew a Toyota Hybrid owner either directly or indirectly.

Facebook's spokesperson in Norway, Petter Høie commented:  “This is the first time we have a Norwegian winner.  It’s a good example of how agencies and brands can leverage Facebook with creative storytelling today and design campaigns that capture how people connect together ,and discover what really matters to them on the platform .”

‘The top European award winner was Saatchi & Saatchi Norway, whose Try My Hybrid campaign for Toyota brilliantly leveraged people’s passion for their vehicle and the trust factor of a platform with real identity, receiving a Gold Award in the process.  It was something that we thought was really special,” commented Facebook CCO Mark D’Arcy. “A unique celebration of the connected world.”

About the Gold Award winner:

Norway: Try My Hybrid

Client: Toyota

Agency: Saatchi & Saatchi Norway

Award Level: Gold

Try My Hybrid is a simple, genius idea spurred by a great insight. Rather than having salesmen persuade car shoppers, the campaign allowed existing hybrid owners to lend a hand. The service features real Toyota owners, who let strangers, neighbors and friends (and friends of friends) test-drive their hybrids. Through Facebook, people were able to locate friends who owned Toyota Hybrids, and identify friends of friends who could take them out for a test drive allowing for an honest and trustworthy conversation. The campaign was met with great results, with one-third of Norwegians remembering the campaign, and every Norwegian on Facebook (roughly 2.8 million people) either knew, or indirectly knew, a Toyota Hybrid owner they could go for a test drive with.
