A New Era for Saatchi & Saatchi Brussels

Brussels -
Saatchi & Saatchi Brussels is pleased to announce the appointment of Yves Van Landeghem as CEO, a role he will manage in tandem with his current responsibilities as strategic director. Landeghem (pictured) will be supported in the leadership of the agency by Matthieu De Winter, who will become Managing Director, responsible for business and operations.

After 30 years of advertising, current CEO Marc Michils has decided to take up a new challenge and will be joining the Belgian League Against Cancer as their Managing Director.  Michils, a stalwart of the ad industry in Brussels, will continue to remain close to Saatchi & Saatchi, staying on as the non-executive Chairman of the agency.

The creative leadership of the agency will continue to be lead by award-winning creative directors Jan Teulingkx and Alexander Chaban.

Michils said: "Yves, Jan, Matthieu, Alexander and Roland are very talented in their respective fields.  They have proven time and time again over the past few years what strong campaigns they are capable of. Saatchi & Saatchi Brussels will remain on its course towards being one of the top agencies.  Knowing this allows me to have some peace of mind as I set out on a new challenge in my life, while I continue to support and aid this agency wherever I can."

Landeghem said: "While I have had the pleasure of working at Saatchi & Saatchi for 10 years now (which is, in itself a rarity in Belgium), I do feel as if I've already worked for a couple of ‘different' agencies during this time. The merger with Quattro in 2003, Jan Teulingkx joining in 2007 as well as Matthieu and Alexander's arrival in 2010 have all brought about positive changes for the agency.  I believe strongly that these evolutions allow Saatchi & Saatchi to bring a creative and strategic offering to the table that is unique for the Belgian market but also within Europe.  Of course, we will always be looking at how we can lift our game even further and, together with the team, I'm excited about how we can continue to progress on our journey together."

Since the merger between Quattro (the agency founded by Michils) and Saatchi & Saatchi in 2003, the Brussels agency has developed into a strong strategic and creative force on the European market.  Under the new management structure Saatchi & Saatchi Brussels will continue to provide a strong offering as a true strategic and creative partner for local and international clients.
