Saatchi & Saatchi Sydney Unveils New Strategy Head

Saatchi & Sudeep

It’s a new internal partnership for Saatchi & Saatchi Australia, who announced today that former Wieden + Kennedy Portland’s Head of Planning, Sudeep Gohil, has joined its senior ranks.

Gohil was also the former global Planning Director on Nike while at Wieden + Kennedy and returns to Australia after 8 years.

Beginning his strategic career at George Patterson in Sydney, after 3 years and tired of working in an agency, Gohil then left to form his own planning consultancy company called Vertigo focusing on youth brands.

His departure from Australia back in '99 was because of an offer he could not refuse. BBH London recruited Gohil to set up its Tokyo office, then after 3 years he relocated to BBH London to lead pan-European planning on its flagship client, Levi's.

A true heavyweight in his field, a glance at some of Gohil's previous clients adds weight to this claim: Nike, Starbucks, Procter & Gamble, Johnnie Walker, Electronic Arts, Millers Brewing, and Sony PlayStation.

Saatchi & Saatchi, CEO, Simone Bartley, commented, "It goes without saying that both Nobby (ECD David Nobay) and I are incredibly excited to have Sudeep on board. He is a rare talent in this market and will add great value to the agency, our clients' businesses and brands."

Previous Head of Strategy Adrian Barrow leaves to head back to the US. His new role is yet to be announced.
