SSF Group Hires Spencer Livermore

London - The SSF Group has appointed Spencer Livermore, the Prime Minister's director of political strategy, as a senior strategist working across Saatchi & Saatchi and Fallon.

As director of political strategy at Number 10, Livermore has been the Prime Minister's most senior strategy adviser since Gordon Brown became Prime Minister in June 2007.

Prior to 2007, Livermore was the chief political and strategy adviser at HM Treasury where he was the then Chancellor's senior special adviser with responsibility for strategic planning and policy development.

Livermore has worked on three successful General Election campaigns, playing a pivotal role in the 2001 and 2005 campaigns. In the run up to the 2001 General Election, at Gordon Brown's request, Livermore moved from the Treasury to work alongside Douglas Alexander in running the General Election campaign.

Livermore has worked for Gordon Brown for more than ten years. He joined the Labour Party's economic research unit in 1997. He has also worked on a number of US election campaigns. He has a degree in economics from the LSE.

Brown said: "Spencer has made a huge contribution for the past ten years. I am extremely grateful to him for the work he has done, playing a major part in devising and implementing many of the successful policies at the Treasury, particularly in relation to employment and welfare to work policies. He played a central role in twice ensuring the re-election of a Labour Government. I regret his decision to leave Downing Street, but I know that he will continue to play a major role with his new company in helping Labour to a fourth term in Government."

Robert Senior, UK CEO, SSF Group, said: "Spencer's appointment is a huge coup for the SSF Group. His experience and insights are unparalleled and will be immensely valuable to both Saatchi & Saatchi and Fallon clients."

Livermore will play a key role in shaping strategy for a broad spectrum of Saatchi & Saatchi and Fallon clients. He joins in late April 2008 and will be based at Fallon's offices.
