Comstat Formalizes Alliance with Microsoft Puerto Rico

San Juan - Comstat, Puerto Rico's main public relations and corporate communications firm, cemented its industry leadership by adding Microsoft Puerto Rico to its continually growing client roster. As part of the agreement that was recently formalized between both companies, Microsoft will rely on Comstat's counseling, expertise, experience and resources in the areas of public relations and media relations.

For Ana María Echenique, President of Comstat, the partnership with Microsoft Puerto Rico "is an important milestone in the firm's history. For almost three decades we have upheld our reputation for serving clients that are leading-edge players in their respective industries. With Microsoft we begin a relationship with a partner who is synonymous with innovation. We welcome the company to our family and accept the challenge of working with them in order to maximize their communications efforts in this market."

Among Comstat's responsibilities in managing the Microsoft Puerto Rico account are: collaborating in the development of strategic communications plans that will help Microsoft meet its objectives; strategic analysis; media relations; and provide support to marketing strategies, promotions, special events, product launches, and others.

Mariloli Baragaño, Marketing and Operations lead, Microsoft Puerto Rico & US Virgin Islands, noted that "Comstat was chosen to handle our business because they demonstrated their senior strategic capabilities, as well as the excellent relationships they have with the press and the quality of their team of dedicated professionals. We also saw in Comstat a genuine passion to be a part of Microsoft's present and future. We count on Comstat to help us strengthen our efforts in the market and to deliver our message to our diverse audiences in the most effective manner possible."

Microsoft is the latest in a string of successful new business acquisitions for Comstat. In 2011 the firm also signed top-tier clients such as American Airlines/British Airways; Grupo Episcopal San Lucas, one of Puerto Rico's leading hospital and health care networks; and the Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico, the island's fastest growing and innovative institution of higher education.

"The media are changing. The communications field is shifting. As such, Comstat has evolved and adapted to this new era of public relations and corporate communications. The quality of our work, combined with the drive of our professionals, is geared at helping clients navigate the new information landscape. I feel that clients are more aware of the value of strategic planning and execution in this field and are confident that Comstat delivers," said Echenique.

For almost 30 years Comstat, a division of Badillo Nazca Saatchi & Saatchi, member of the Publicis Groupe global communications network, has set the standard in a variety of branches within the public relations field, including mergers and acquisitions, environmental, community, and litigation communications, and labor relations, among other disciplines. The firm has also earned a distinguished reputation for crisis management and handling sensitive issues.
