The professional network LinkedIn is launching a German version of its author platform where members can publish articles. In the USA, the platform already opened up to all members in February 2014.
Identified well-known and influential professionals have been able to publish articles on LinkedIn since 2012. Internationally, these people include billionaire Richard Branson and the Head of Renault and Nissan, Carlos Ghosn.
The German version starts with three such ‘influencers’ – with Saatchi & Saatchi Germany CEO, Christian Rätsch being chosen as one. According to LinkedIn, further prominent authors will join soon. The objective is to turn LinkedIn into the most important platform for business content, not to compete with general news channels.
