The Ping An Finance Center is a new landmark 600-meter high building of global importance in Shenzhen, one of the fastest growing cities in the world. An electronic city that witnesses numerous technology miracles every day and night. The busy urban residents have no time to stop and think about how beautiful miracles could appear when combining technology with nature.
Saatchi & Saatchi invited Nexus Interactive Arts, the world-renowned production company and animation studio from the UK, to create the world’s first interactive musical wind installation. The installation was constructed from steel tubes specially crafted to collect wind sounds 600 meters above the ground. This unique installation combines technology, art and commercial construction: wind is collected at one end of the installation, and the pure sounds of nature are saved after travelling the length of the tube.
Saatchi & Saatchi also invited the talented young artist Ms. Wang Cong, and famous European lighting art director Etienne Schwarcz (Video-Lighting director of the closing ceremony of Athens 2004 Olympics), to use the wind sounds to create astounding music.

Saatchi & Saatchi China’s concept for the PAFC Interactive Wind Installation successfully harnessed the power of the wind surrounding the skyscraper, by connecting technical art with commercial building and introducing world-renowned creatives to bring the concept to life.
