The network will be investing in new staff to service the growing client base in each office following new business wins including Vorwerk, Vaillant Group, Friesland Campina and Targobank and further business with Merck, Toyota and GSK over the past 18 months. As part of this redevelopment, the agency is also proposing to consolidate the Frankfurt and Düsseldorf offices in 2016.
Under the planned new structure, Frankfurt-based clients will be serviced from Düsseldorf, allowing them to access the creative, digital and consultancy expertise of the team on the Rhine, which is set to grow rapidly over the coming months. Staff in Frankfurt shall be offered the opportunity to transfer to roles in Düsseldorf wherever possible.
Justin Billingsley, COO, Saatchi & Saatchi Worldwide, said: “We are refocusing our operations in Germany, so we can continue to grow the right capabilities for the increased benefit of all our clients, regardless of geographical location. When we appointed Christian in Germany, we asked him to build a sustainable agency, fit for the future. I believe this new proposed structure will deliver that.”
Rätsch will continue to lead Saatchi & Saatchi across Germany, supported by the management team; Dirk Goebel (COO), Alexander Stendel (CTO), Simon Thun (CSO) and Patricia Zimmermann (CFO). René Menzel will stay in place as Managing Director of Düsseldorf, alongside ECD, Alexander Reiss. The agency in Berlin will continue, without changes, focusing on digital and ‘B2B’ communications.
As part of the new developments, the agency is also stepping up its commitment to the creation of a strong work culture. Employees of Saatchi & Saatchi in Düsseldorf are offered to take part in a company-wide job rotation program and have the opportunity to participate in inter-office exchanges between Berlin and Düsseldorf.
Rätsch said: “People are the most precious component of our business and we therefore want to make sure everyone at Saatchi & Saatchi has the very best working environment possible. We’re implementing benefits that go above and beyond to ensure that our staff will continue to thrive and develop as we transition the agency into this next phase of growth.”
