Saatchi & Saatchi New York is pleased to announce the appointment of Andrea Diquez as President. In her new role, effective immediately, Diquez will report to Saatchi & Saatchi New York CEO Brent Smart, helping to drive internal operations and be a champion for integration, while continuing her global leadership role on Procter & Gamble’s Olay and Safeguard brands.
“The elevation of Andrea’s role is recognition of the brilliant work she has done over many years, especially on P&G,” says CEO of Saatchi & Saatchi New York Brent Smart. “As President, Andrea will direct all client-facing operations and lead the account management department, while she continues her leadership role on the Olay and Safeguard brands. As my ‘second-in-command,’ Andrea will be my partner in running the agency, so I can continue to focus on leading the agency’s culture and growth.”
This executive appointment caps a robust period of creative momentum for Saatchi & Saatchi New York, which includes a significant investment in the agency’s digital capabilities and the mid-October unveiling of its reimagined office space at 375 Hudson Street. Diquez’s appointment also speaks to Saatchi & Saatchi’s commitment to diversity, with women now holding the majority of the agency’s leadership roles.
A Venezuelan native, Diquez began her career at Saatchi & Saatchi New York back in 1995 and has held a variety of regional and global roles, including leading some of the agency’s most famous work on Tide. She was named CEO of Saatchi & Saatchi Mexico in 2011 and returned to New York in August 2013 to run the Olay business as EVP Global Director.
“I’m thrilled to take on this new role and partner with Brent in the operational management of the agency,” says Andrea Diquez. “I’ve always considered Saatchi & Saatchi New York my home and I want to help make it a great agency. I’m excited about the current leadership team and creative momentum we have right now at Saatchi New York.”
