After 3 successful seasons of the advertising academy for students, Saatchi Circle has found its place in the official program of the Creativity Festival in Bulgaria. “We created Saatchi Circle with the mission to give young people with great potential and zero practical experience the skills and knowledge of how ad agencies work, thus helping them find their first job in the industry” says Milin Djalaliev, co-managing director at Saatchi & Saatchi Bulgaria. The focus of the festival edition, created in partnership with Miami Ad School Madrid, was ‘Transformational ideas with the power to change human lives’.
The traditional format was experimentally shortened – from 10 weeks of extensive lectures and workshops, to 48 hours dedicated to creative concepts.
Only 9 people passed through the rigorous selection process to take part in the festive issue of the academy. The participants, split in 3 teams, had lectures and workshops and worked on a creative brief titled ‘Help reverse the trend of increasing child obesity in Bulgaria’.
“We believe that transformational ideas are vital for taking the industry to the next level. In order to produce more, and better transformational ideas with the power to make our lives better, we value the point of view of fresh talent, unburdened with years of experience in the advertising industry” says Georgi Gavazov, co-managing director at Saatchi & Saatchi Bulgaria.
After the 48 hours, each team pitched a five minute presentation on their best concept in front of a full auditorium and the official creative jury of the festival. The presentations won the ovation of the festival visitors and the jury, and more than two thirds of the Saatchi Circle participants were offered their first agency position.
