Saatchi & Saatchi Simko Switzerland Names New CEO

Carouge - Geneva-based advertising agency Saatchi & Saatchi Simko is opening an office in Zurich at the start of 2008. The expansion into Zurich reflects the agency's consistent growth strategy following its outstanding success in recent years.

According to the latest BSW ranking, Saatchi & Saatchi Simko, with its 92 employees, has quickly become the second largest Swiss advertising agency.

"We have been thinking of opening an office in Zurich, and now is the right time," says Pedro Simko, the agency's Chairman. Saatchi & Saatchi Simko sees good growth opportunities in Switzerland; existing clients will enjoy a wider offer, and reaction times will become quicker.

Kaspar Loeb will take over as CEO for both locations in Switzerland from January 2008. "In Kaspar Loeb we are onboarding a proven specialist and an outstanding leader with extensive experience. His appointment will help boost growth and prepare the group for the challenges of the future," explains Simko.

After studying law at the University of Basel, Kaspar Loeb was a journalist for national print and electronic media, and then worked as a brand consultant at Interbrand Zintzmeyer & Lux. From 2000 to 2004 he ran Seiler DDB, and from 2004 to autumn 2007 he was CEO of Publicis, Switzerland's largest agency.

In addition to his role as Chairman of Saatchi & Saatchi Simko, Pedro Simko, who will remain a key contact person and advisor for Swiss-based clients, will also take over important management roles for Saatchi & Saatchi's international network with immediate effect. He is becoming Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), and is joining Saatchi & Saatchi's four-person European Executive Management Team, which is headed by Simon Francis.

Francis says: "Simko has shown that he can lead an agency to the top. He will be able to give significant additional impetus to the international development of Saatchi & Saatchi." Among other things, Simko is directly responsible for the EMEA growth programs.

For Kevin Roberts, CEO Worldwide of Saatchi & Saatchi, Simko embodies the ideal combination of a "creative advertiser with a visionary entrepreneur who always focuses on results". Simko also sits on the Worldwide Executive Board of Saatchi & Saatchi in New York where he has a direct influence on the worldwide development of the network.
