Saatchi & Saatchi Belgrade Wins 13 Awards at UEPS

Success at leading Serbian award show reaffirms agency's position as the region's most creative.

Belgrade - Capping off a successful 2013, the most awarded Serbian agency swept through the UEPS (Serbian Marketing Communications Association) awards ceremony, Serbia’s most important awards for marketing communications.  Saatchi & Saatchi Belgrade won the Grand Prix and 5 more awards with its “One photo a day in the worst year of life” campaign against domestic violence, as well as another 7 accolades with other work.

“We are very proud that UEPS recognized the importance and power of our idea. Domestic violence is one of the most pressing problems in our society and we needed to break the silence that surrounds it to try and address it. We hope that the campaign’s success at this year’s UEPS awards will further the cause,” said Sonja Milović, Managing Director at Saatchi & Saatchi Belgrade.

Veljko Golubović, Executive Creative Director at Saatchi & Saatchi Belgrade added: “Our campaign being awarded the best in 2013 is the most satisfying end to a very successful year for Saatchi & Saatchi Belgrade. After numerous international awards, the value of the “One photo a day in the worst year of life” project was acknowledged by the Serbian Association of Marketing Communications, which reaffirmed our position as the most creative agency in the region.”

The campaign, which features the most successful viral in the Balkan region this year, was created and executed by Saatchi & Saatchi Belgrade for Fund B92. The video hit 3 million views on YouTube in just one week, which kick-started a debate that quickly turned from local to global, thanks to the coverage from a great number of media outlets from all over the world. These reports brought the issue of domestic violence back into the focus of worldwide public attention. The multi-award winning campaign made possible the opening of two more shelters form women victims of domestic violence on the territory of Serbia.

This success comes as an addendum to this year’s awards tally, boasting trophies from Cresta, Epica, Cristal, Golden Drum and Ad Stars awards.

On another celebratory note, UEPS honored Veljko Golubović, Executive Creative Director at Saatchi & Saatchi Begrade, with the prestigious “Dragan Sakan – New Idea” award for innovative thinking in marketing communications.
