With 30 years of experience in the advertising world, Michael is one of China’s earliest advertising pioneers. He has been in management roles for over 21 years since being appointed to General Manager of DMB&B Beijing at 29 years of age. Michael has played a key part of building Ogilvy to its leadership position in Shanghai and Greater China and opened his own fashion business before joining Saatchi & Saatchi.

Michael Lee joined Saatchi & Saatchi in 2011 and has been leading the agency to achieve a series of business successes, including nine ‘Creative Agency of the Year’ awards in the Greater China region over the past four years. Michael also won the ‘Outstanding Contribution to the Advertising Industry in China Award’ at the 43rd International Advertising Association (IAA) World Congress in 2014, the first and only Chinese to win this individual achievement award.

In 2015, Michael was named in popular Hong Kong lifestyle & fashion magazine JMEN’s ‘Men of the Year 2015’ list as the first recipient to hail from the advertising industry. Jun, 2017 - Michael Lee became the first creative industry leader to be honored with the Nobel Laureates Honorary Fellowship & Asian Chinese Leadership Award. The award was created by the Asian College of Knowledge Management to recognize Asian leaders who have made outstanding contributions to social, economic and cultural development. Dec, 2017 – Michael Lee was awarded the Honorary Doctorate Degree from Lincoln University, USA.

In January 2019, Michael Lee was promoted to CEO of Publicis Groupe Greater China, and continues the role as CEO of Saatchi & Saatchi Greater China.
