Miami – Conill continued its robust performance in 2014 with 10 awards at three industry festivals this week in Miami, Fl. The agency took home five awards, including two of the “Top 5 Creative Ideas of Show” at the U.S. Hispanic Idea Awards. It also won Gold and Bronze honors at the Hispanic Account Planning Excellence Awards. Both Festivals were held last Night during the Association of Hispanic Advertising Agencies (AHAA) annual conference.
Conill won another three awards, including gold honors in the Digital category, at the Festival Iberoamericano De La Publicidad (FIAP), held April 28-30.
“Headlines from the Sky” for Toyota Tundra and “Robocop” for the Argentina New Cinema Film Festival were the biggest winners, placing second and fourth respectively at the U.S. Hispanic Idea Awards. Conill was the only agency recognized more than once among the Top 5 Creative Ideas of the festival.
“Headlines from the Sky” was based on the historic return of the space shuttle Endeavor to its final home at the California Science Center in Los Angeles. To celebrate the event, a Toyota Tundra helped tow the American icon through the streets of Los Angeles. It took advantage of a unique media opportunity by capitalizing on the aerial media coverage of the shuttle’s arrival and its journey through the streets of Los Angeles. Very large signs were erected and strategically placed on rooftops along the Endeavour’s path, with the objective of being “seen” by news helicopters that surrounded the event.
“Robocop” continues the tradition of creative excellence on the Argentine film festival for the Consulate General of Argentina. In it, a father names his son after the character in his favorite movie, Robocop. As the boy grows up, he is tormented by others for his strange name. The spot ends with the tagline "If a movie is going to change your life, make it the right one."
Combined with its performance at the Recent Wave and Caribe Advertising festivals, Conill has earned 15 total awards and recognized as a Finalist more than a dozen times thus far in 2014.
