Solidarity Award Win for Saatchi & Saatchi Brussels

Brussels - Saatchi & Saatchi Brussels is more than proud to announce victory in the Solidarity Award 2009, a contest for ‘good cause’ adverts run each summer by the Belgian newspaper De Standaard.

Each day a charity organisation is given the opportunity to present itself and its cause via a full page print ad in the newspaper.  Out of a total of 96 entries this year, only 24 were shortlisted for publication.

The 2009 winner is the Vlaamse Liga tegen Kanker / Flemish League against Cancer with an ad by Saatchi & Saatchi Brussels.

The ad, “Do you love your children?” is a tongue in cheek confrontation of smokers with the fact that smoking in the presence of their children is actually equal to not loving them.  According to the jury, the ad won because the message was expressive, simple yet powerful.

A second entry from Saatchi & Saatchi Brussels for Tele-Onthaal (emotional support help line) was also shortlisted.
